Create a more balanced assessment system that effectively utilizes district/school- and classroom-required assessments, including common formative assessments, to inform teaching and learningÂ
Increase the number of assessments given in grades K-6 and review data at regular intervals to inform instructional decisions, both in the classroom and intervention
Create a more robust early learning program (P-2) at Leggett Valley School to teach foundational skills at an earlier age, including phonemic awareness and fine motor skills/penmanship
Establish an assessment calendar to provide a clear timeline for teachers and families
Provide professional development for teachers in the areas of assessment and progress monitoring
Schedule biweekly meetings for student support teams and monthly meetings for teacher professional learning communities (PLCs) to explore common formative assessments and other data points
Create vertical teams (i.e. different grade-level teachers) during PLC time to discuss expected skills in preparation for the next level
Continue using existing Preschool curriculum and implement new K-2 curriculumÂ
