Establish a Parent Academy that focuses on educating parents on educational assessment systems, including how assessments are structured, the purpose of each assessment, and what parents can do to support their childrenÂ
Students of parents who participate in the Parent Testing Academy will show positive growth on both district- and state-required assessments
Improve parent knowledge and understanding of educational assessment systems by sustaining or improving parent participation rate in the Parent Testing Academy
Host eight informational sessions throughout the year, each focusing on a different topic that contributes to student growth
Offer light refreshments and incorporate interactive, hands-on activities to increase parent engagement
Identify parent liaisons from each site to help market the Academy and monitor attendance at the sessions
Provide educational tools and resources (e.g. books) for participants to take home at each session to bridge gaps in learning opportunities outside of school
Develop and distribute a Parent Checklist Calendar related to assessments, following up with parents throughout the year
